The Impact of Lacking Self-Esteem on Business Professionals” is a recent article published in Business 2.0 magazine, written by Robert J. Gebbia, Ph.D., and Jennifer L. Gebbia, JD, with the subtitle “Why working moms are killing the self-employment engine.”
We must make an impact with our copywriting. When we write for a business 2.0 magazine (or any business magazine for that matter), we need to make sure that our copywriting gets the message to the audience that we are trying to reach.
Here are a few tips for writing articles for the business 2.0 magazine:
1) Focus on one topic.
Make sure that you write about ONE topic – no more, no less. This means that you need to write about ONE topic in your writing. In writing about ONE topic, you will be able to write your article well. You won’t have to struggle to make your article relevant to your audience – you can ONLY talk about ONE topic. The more you struggle to keep your article relevant, the less able you will be to write an effective article.
2) Focus on ONE topic.
Make sure that you write about ONE topic – no more, no less. This means that you need to write about ONE topic in your writing. In writing about ONE topic, you will be able to write your article well. You won’t have to struggle to make your article relevant to your audience – you can ONLY talk about ONE topic. The more you struggle to keep your article relevant to your audience, the less able you will be to write an effective article.
3) Make sure that your article is written primarily for your audience.
It is often a challenge to write an article that is relevant to your industry or niche. If your audience comprises several niches, the article will have a slightly different focus than if it were a niche-specific article. A great way to make sure that your article is written primarily for your audience is to identify your desired outcome and focus the article on that.
For example, if you are writing a marketing article aimed at business owners, you might write it as “Why working moms are killing the self-employment engine – Why working moms are killing the stock-piling of customer testimonials.” Writing an article about the best way to manage client expectations, you might write it as “How to manage client expectations is the key to success in the self-employed”.
Let’s have a recap
The first two tips above are ways to ensure that your marketing writing is written to help your audience. The third tip will help ensure that your article is written effectively. To make sure that your article is written effectively, you can use a number of strategies.
The first tip is to think about your desired outcome. To focus your article in on that goal, you can make a list of the things that your audience wants to know about. Then, you can flesh those items out in your article using your own experience, your own network of people you know, and your own understanding. The more you know about what your audience wants to know, the better you can make mention of those things in your article.
The second tip is to give specific, practical, and useful information. You can use specific language in your article to help people achieve their desired outcome. For example, you might say “There are 5 main ways to manage client expectations – These 5 methods work best for me – Not every method will work for you.”
The third tip is to list the main reasons why people procrastinate. You can use the same list for every reason why people procrastinate.
The fourth tip is to provide useful tips and suggestions for helping your audience achieve their desired outcome. You can use tips and suggested workarounds in your article whenever you think your audience will benefit from knowing them.
For example, you might say “I have an easy way to help clients avoid the most common problems and issues they come across when managing client expectations.”
For another example, you might say “I know how to help your clients stay focused. These 7 tips have helped me make more money for clients this year. Here are 10 good reasons to start thinking about how you’re making your team or yourself more money this year.”
